Remembering a Valued Friend and Coworker: Michael Windahl

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our friend and colleague, Michael Anthony Windahl, who tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident on October 7, 2025.Michael was not only a respected member of the CSTK family, he was also a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael joined CSTK with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude that quickly earned the respect of his peers and supervisors alike. Known for his reliability, skill, and positive spirit, Michael brought energy and professionalism to every job. Whether tackling a challenging service call or lending a hand to a teammate, he exemplified the dedication and teamwork that define CSTK’s values.
“Michael was just a hell of a guy,” says CSTK Wichita Service Manager Kirk Thompson. “Very easy to get along with. No matter what was asked of him, he just did it. He wasn’t afraid to tackle any task. And he had an odd sense of humor. I’m going to miss him trying to get a rise out of me.”
Outside of work, Michael’s greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time outdoors, working with his hands, and creating memories with his wife Jazmine and their three young children, ages three, two, and one. He was a family man in every sense of the word, always striving to build a better life for those he loved most. His sudden loss leaves a tremendous void

CSTK VP and Wichita GM Mike Nelson adds, “On behalf of everyone at CSTK Wichita, we are deeply saddened by the loss of our teammate, Michael Windahl. He was a dependable, skilled technician who always brought a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever he was needed. Michael represented the very best of what CSTK stands for—hard work, integrity, and teamwork—and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him.”
As we reflect on Michael’s time with us, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have through hard work, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to both his craft and his family. His memory will continue to inspire those who worked alongside him, and his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
From all of us at CSTK, we extend our deepest condolences to Michael’s family, friends, and loved ones. We will remember him not only for his skill and work ethic but for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Those coworkers and friends at CSTK who worked closest with Mike wanted to share their own thoughts and memories about the time they spent working alongside him…
Man… it’s hard to believe you’re gone. You were like our little brother — always around, always bringing that light with you. We’re definitely going to miss that laugh, that smirk, and the way nothing ever seemed to get under your skin. You’d just give that classic chuckle, shake it off, and get right back to it like nothing happened.
It’s going to be tough without my fishing buddy — those talks meant more than you probably knew. The shop just won’t be the same without you, man. You brought a kind of calm and joy that’s rare in this world.
My heart goes out to your family. It truly hurts knowing you’re not here with us anymore. You may be gone, but your memory will live on in every smile, every story, and every quiet moment by the water.
You’ll always be missed, Kid
Mike.
Rest easy, brother
